Cale Sinfield, is Director and Owner of Cale Social, a social media consultancy and management company based in Hastings.

Cale describes his business as “When you’re busy running a small business, social media can be a headache. Think of me as a relaxing head massage. Or a timely dose of paracetamol, if you prefer. I can help you devise a time and hassle-saving social media strategy, or take your social media marketing to the next level with social media management or social media consultancy.”

Paul sadly passed away on 22nd June 2022. Paul was a great friend and a fantastic ambassador for the SCF. His humour and enthusiasm will be greatly missed.

Sarah Hurst is Director, Founder and Aesthetic Therapist at Sarah Hurst Skin Clinic in Brighton. Sarah qualified as a Beauty Therapist in 1988. Since then Sarah has consistently upgraded her skills to the highest of standards and ensured that her knowledge of the industry is up to date.

In addition, Sarah is also an active member of the local business community and has also been involved in many charitable events. One of her most recent charity accomplishments was her ‘Spontaneous Headshave‘ which carried out while receiving cancer treatment at the Sussex Cancer Centre and raising over £6K for the Sussex Cancer Fund.

Stuart Humphrey set up his media marketing agency, Phoenix Marketing, during Covid after losing his job and part-time dance business in the pandemic.

He helps small and medium-sized businesses market themselves in an ever-changing climate. After losing a great friend to cancer he decided to honour his memory and become a business ambassador with the Sussex Cancer Fund – pulling ever closer the commercial world to help support and fund this great cause.

Camilla Rents is a Solicitor and Director at Old Bailey Solicitors and specialises in criminal defence work. While based mainly in London, Camilla grew up in Hove and spends a lot of her time working and visiting family and friends in Sussex.

Camilla said ” I wanted to support Sussex Cancer Fund because cancer is something that has touched most people’s lives either personally or through friends and family. By being a Business Ambassador I am hoping to help spread the word on the work that the Sussex Cancer Fund does to enable them to help even more cancer patients in Sussex”

“I am Business Manager for both West Sussex Partners in Care and East Sussex Registered Care Association including Brighton & Hove. I support care homes, domiciliary agencies and supported living services across the area keeping them up to date with legislation, training compliance etc. As well as this I support my partner in our business Independent Plumbing & Heating Supplies Ltd with accounts and sales and marketing.

My reasons for becoming an Ambassador are personal and professional, members of my family have suffered first hand and of course my care job means I know of many residents with some form of the disease. I am looking forward to supporting SCF as much as I can and involving myself with the fantastic work you do “

I have worked at Engleharts Solicitors since January 2004, chiefly as a residential conveyancing assistant, and my role entails being involved with clients through the process of property sales and purchases, remortgages and lease extensions. There is, of course, the legal aspect to all of these matters (which is undertaken by the solicitor with conduct of the file), but also of importance is the personal assistance I can give to clients to reassure and guide them through what can often be a confusing, frustrating and nerve-wracking experience, and that is what I enjoy.

So to be of some assistance to people in my situation would be an absolute honour and pleasure. Because I have been through the breast cancer treatment process, and am now benefiting from treatment for secondary breast cancer, I can really speak from my heart about how it affects me.

Annie sadly passed away on 23rd January 2020. She was an inspiration to all and a fantastic ambassador for SCF. She will be very missed.

I’m supporting SCF because until recently, I wasn’t aware of how much the Charity funds the support given to patients, I imagined it to be given by the NHS. From supplying updated magazines & refreshments in the waiting areas to building treatment units, SCF is an extremely important benefactor to those in receipt of treatment and their aftercare support is fantastic offering nutrition and physical advice. I also have friends and family who have received support via SCF .”

Ophelia specialises in Digital Marketing and events. Ophelia has helped the Sussex Cancer Fund with some of their events and also helps to raise their profile through Social Media.

Consortium Business Solutions is a boutique marketing agency specialising in Professional Services. Lara has a real insight into the challenges faced by the sector, and how to overcome these using a mix of sales and marketing tools.

Lara and her team are long-time supporters of the Sussex Cancer Fund and Lara’s work as a Business Ambassador includes: advising SCF, offering network places and generally helping to raise awareness of the charity to the local business community.

I am a director at FRP Advisory in the restructuring team based in Brighton. My role is to provide independent, professional advice to individuals, business owners and their stakeholders who are experiencing financial and operational distress. Often I am advising people who are incredibly stressed and uncertain which way to turn. The most satisfying part of my job is providing the client with a way forward and seeing them leave my office in a better place mentally and emotionally. Both my friends and family have been impacted by cancer in some way, and it appears to be one the rise. I lost my dad at a very early age to lung cancer when I was only 5. When I heard about the great work that the Sussex Cancer Fund does, I had to get involved, and I am proud to have been accepted as an ambassador to the charity.

David specialises in Digital Marketing and events. David has helped the Sussex Cancer Fund with some of their fundraising efforts and also helps to raise their profile through Social Media.

Joanna Rees, aka, Josie Lloyd is a Brighton-based author of 15 best-selling novels and also several parodies which she has written with her husband, Emlyn. Jo went through breast cancer in 2017 and has subsequently written a novel based on her experience called ‘The Cancer Ladies’ Running Club’ (published in June 2020).

She continues to run the BM10K each year to raise money for the SCF. As someone who is not just surviving, but positively thriving on the other side of cancer, Jo feels passionately about sharing her experience in order to help others and feels that in supporting the SCF, her fundraising can make a real, positive difference to cancer patients.

Niko is an expert in business development and communication, as well as a qualified trainer and coach specialising in business and performance coaching. He has extensive experience of working in the corporate sector, having held several senior executive and board-level positions in international banks.

Jelena is a doctor of psychology working in the area of workplace wellbeing and burnout prevention.

As a co-founder and Programme Director of Sussex Wellbeing Company, she draws on her extensive academic expertise to help organisations reduce workplace stress and create a wellbeing culture where employees can thrive and perform to the best of their ability.
